Section 88.4, Code of Iowa (2001) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Shop Area - No documentation was provided to show daily and periodic safety inspections had been conducted to insure safe operating requirements. Components of the lift could be damaged and allow movements of the lift subjecting employees to hazards of crushing or being struck by lift parts. One reasonable and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the information provided in the operators manual and as referenced in the American National Standard Institute / ALT ALOIM.- 2000 Standard for Automotive Lifts.
