Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fractures and crushing injuries due to the rollover and/or collision of powered industrial trucks: Worksite - The employer did not ensure seat belts be worn during forklift operations, especially when doors were removed from the forklifts, which could result in serious injuries to employees in the event of a forklift accident. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method correct this hazard is to enforce the seatbelt requirement.
