recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that:
Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the Hot car/EQC
car while cleaning
the Hot car tracks with a front end loader while the Hot car was in the
quench station.
The company did not follow their own written procedure called "Cleaning of
Hot Car track"
SOP #1114-04-03, in that the Battery/Bench Shift Manager which is an
integral part of each and
every one of the six steps of the operating procedure has been eliminated
in actual practice when
employees clean the Hot Car track.
One feasible means of abatement, among others, is the employer adheres to
his SOP #1114-04-
03.
