Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by a falling load as a result of failure of a Ohio Brand permanent, electrically controlled magnet due to the following attributing factors: a) it was not provided with legible identification displaying the manufacturer's name and address. manufacturer's model or unit identification, weight of lifting magnet, duty cycle (if applicable) and cold current; b) after being repaired, it was not provided with identification with the name and address of repairer or modifier, repairer's unit identification, weight of lifting magnet, duty cycle (if applicable) and cold current c) failure to perform frequent inspections (with records not required), d) failure to perform periodic inspections by a qualified person making records of apparent external conditions, and safety standards recommended by ANSI/ASME B30.20d-1990, ADDENDA to ANSI/ASME B30.20-1985, Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices. One feasible means of abatement, among others, would be to follow safety standards, recommendations and procedures detailed in ANSI/ASME B30.20-1985 Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices and its Addenda ANSI/ASME B30.20d-1990. **THIS ITEM REQUIRES CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT**ON
