North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: 1)Employer Roanoke Lumber Co. failed to furnish to each employee a temporary labor camp free from recognized hazards in that an electrical switch in the kitchen of the temporary labor camp is pulled loose from the wall with live electrical parts exposed. The hazard exists that workers in a wet location, the kitchen of the temporary labor camp will contact electricity resulting in serious physical harm or death. One appropriate and feasible method of abatement is to reattach the electrical switch to the switch box and cover both the switch and the box with an electrical cover plate.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: 1)Employer Roanoke Lumber Co. failed to furnish to each employee a temporary labor camp free from recognized hazards in that the temporary labor camp site was not provided with working smoke detectors or fire extinguisher such that workers could not control or escape from a fire in its incipient stage. One appropriate and feasible method of abatement is to supply and attach a smoke detector and fire extinguisher in the temporary labor camp.
