North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to the possibility of falling steel plates and tandem truck bodies. a)site, main building - two Crosby hooks, 1/4 x 9/32, opening 2 1/4", were visibly offset from shank and had no record of inspection. Among other means, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to remove the hooks from service and then place all hooks on a regular inspection program as required by ANSI B30.16, Overhead Hoists (Underhung).

Among other means, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to have the support beams inspected and repaired, as necessary, as required by ANSI B30.16, Overhead Hoists (Underhung).
