North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to contact with electricity: a)maintenance office: the triple receptacle track outlet, supplying 125 Vac and 15 amp to the portable drill was located approximately 18" from the sink and was not GFCI protected. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abate would be to replace the outlet with a GFCI outlet as required by NEC 1999, section 210-8, paragraph (a)(7).
