Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the second floor of medical equipment shop, employee worked keeping and seeking materials in bending position due to the height from the floor to ceiling was 4 feet 9 1/2 inches and the employee was 5 feet 10 inches of height. The ceiling had a metal lamp and beams with which the employee hit his head. A feasible method to correct this hazard is relocating the storage area of inactive files. Hazard: Head injuries, and/or wounds. En segundo piso del taller de equipo medico, empleado trabajaba guardando y buscando materiales en posicion doblada debido a que la altura del piso al techo era de 4 pies 9 1/2 pulgadas cuando la de su cuerpo era de 5 pies 10 pugadas. En el techo habia una lampara y vigas de metal con la cuales el empleado chocaba a cada momento. Un metodo factible para corregir este riesgo es reubicando el area de almacenaje de archivos inactivos. Riesgo: Lesiones y/o heridas en la cabeza.
