Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Hazards created during the cutting/clipping of energized "jumpers" by electrical workers. May 22, 2002, an employee came into contact with a energized cut "jumper" and received fatal electrical injuries. Among Other Methods, feasible and acceptable methods to correct the hazard are: a) Insure either a foreman or a journeyman level employee maintains eye contact with the apprentice, ground to ground, whenever the apprentice is working on overhead "primary" energized lines (lines in excess of 600 volts).
