40.1-51.1.(a)-Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Spray Booth-The pump that was used to supply flammable paint to the spray application process was not provided with a means to automatically shut off the supply of paint liquid in case of a fire or operation of the extinguishing system. "One feasible means of abatement is to install a device that would comply with the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association Publication NFPA 33 Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or Combustible Materials 1995" Section 6-4.5 and National Fire Protection Association Publication NFPA 17 Dry Chemical Extinguishing Systems Section 3-5.2".

40.1-51.1.(a)-Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Spray Booth-The Graco Hydra-Spray pump for "airless" paint sprayer was not grounded to prevent possible static sparking when spraying flammable enamel paints. One feasible method of abatement is to install the manufacturers recommended parts to accomplish grounding of the pump and its components.
