Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Date of Violation:08/17/00 Location:Inside Building Equipment:1977 Ford Dump Truck Tag# 19492 FT Condition:The employee signaling the operator of a dump truck, having an obstructed view to the rear, to back up was exposed to being struck by the truck when the operator continued to back up after having lost sight of the employee signaling him. Among others, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to develop, implement and enforce a work rule to the affect that an operator of a motor vehicle/equipment, having an obstructed view to the rear, shall cease movement of the vehicle/equipment immediately when the observer signaling the operator is out of view.tor
