Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment
which were free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by a car:
(a) Shop Area - Automotive hydraulic lifts are not maintained in a safe
operative
condition, in that, safety locks were defective and pressure leaks
existed. Employees are
exposed to being struck and/or crushed by the automobile on the hydraulic
lifts while
performing repairs and oil changes to vehicles.
Among other methods, some feasible and acceptable methods to correct this
is to repair
and/or replace parts that allow air pressure leaks on all lifts.  Repair
and/or replace
safety locks  on all the defective hydraulic lifts. Replace all hydraulic
lifts that have
defective safety features.
