employer did not furnish employment
and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed
to the hazard of being injured
while driving a powered industrial truck without wearing a seat belt:
(a)  On 7/5/01, in the warehouse and the yard areas of the plant, an
employee who operates
the Datsun powered industrial truck was observed not wearing a seat belt
while the truck was in
operation.  Among other methods, one feasible  and acceptable abatement
method would be to follow
the guidelines established by the national consensus standard ASME B56.1
-1993 which require the
use of operator restraint systems.
Note: Abatement certification and supporting documentation are required
for this item.
