a)  On August 23, 2000 Riccio Construction Corporation permitted employees
to ride on the
exterior of a combination loader without a seat or seat belt, thus
exposing riders to fall and
caught-in hazards and subsequent crushing injuries.  The Equipment
Manufactures Institute
publishes a Backhoe/Loader Safety Manual that clearly prohibits riders on
machines of this type.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
this hazard include
the use of onsite trucks to transport personnel.
No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
