North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)axle line -- Coffing 3 ton monorail hoist number 6B, was damaged, in that it would loose load tension and allow the load to fall up to 6 inches, and was not removed from service. NOTE:Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to remove the hoist from service until it has been repaired.e

NOTE:One acceptable and feasible method of abatement is to have the I-beam tested to ensure it can sustain the weight applied upon it.n
