Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a. On or about November 21, 2001 - at the above addressed jobsite, six (6) bolts below the ladder access to the roof were protruding 4 inches above the iron, had not been guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to install plastic rebar caps or equivalent protection on the protruding bolts.ding
