Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At warehouse - employees storing and dispatching merchandise using forklifts traveling through aisles where the illumination measures were between 1.0 to 7.4 footcandles. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct hazard is to install lamps to provide illumination between 10-20 footcandles as recomended by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI/IES-RP-7-1991) of the standard of warehouse lighting. Hazard: Contusions, abrasions, fractures and crushing injuries, from forklift striking an employee or stacked merchandise, on account of poor visibility. En el almacen - empleados almacenando y despachando mercancia usando montacargas transitando por los pasillos donde las medidas de la iluminacion era entre 1.0 a 7.4 bujias pies. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable de corregir el riesgo es de instalar lamparas para proveer iluminacion de entre 10-20 bujias pies segun recomendado por el American National Standard National Institute (ANSI/IES-RP-7-1991) de la norma para iluminacion para los almacenes. Riesgo: Contusiones, abrasiones, fracturas y lesiones por aplastamiento, por el montacargas golpear empleado y/o a mercancia en anaqueles, a causa de la pobre iluminacion.o,
