Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: Worksite located at Well #26, Southwest Royalties, South Huntley Unit up to and including July 18, 2001. Well servicing employees were working on a well in a known sour gas field without the benefit of a monitor, either on their person, or on board the rig, which would sound a warning if H2S were present. Further, there were no escape packs available for the personnel to use while leaving the area in the event of H2S exposure. Among others, one feasible and useful method would be to install a working monitor on the well servicing rig.icing
