Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: Penatek Industries, Inc., 6830 E. Business I-20, Odessa, TX. For the period of time up to and including 01/08/02, the eyewash section of the emergency eyewash/shower unit located on the north side of the foundry did not function when tested. This exposed employees to injuries associated with not having quick drenching facilities operating in case of an emergency. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazardous condition include: Implement a regular schedule for testing of the emergency eyewash/shower unit.sh/shower
