Title 40.1- 51.1(a) Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a) Shop area - The overhead lifts had not been inspected by a qualified inspector in accordance with recognized industry standards on a regular basis as evidenced by the lack of inspection reports. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to maintain the overhead automotive lifts in accordance with manufacture's recommendations and ANSI B 153.1
