Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The emplpoyer did not provide a place of employment that was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: At EE 23-24 area, the employees using a lifting device to lift tractor frame weighing approximately 4000 lbs were exposed to being struck by falling tractor parts due to failure of the lifting devices (hooks and O rings) : Among feasible methods to abate this condition is to: Comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Safe;ty Standard for Below thge Hook Lifting Devices, ANSI B30.20-1993, Section 1.2.1 and affix permanent markings as to the manufacturer, serial number, lifter weight, and rated load.
