Section 5(a) (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment or a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards in that employees were exposed to improperly stored material: a)Front of Store, Near Special Services Desk. A roll of vinyl flooring material affixed to a board approx. 15 feet long, was inadequately secured with a bungee cord in an upright position to the outside of a storage rack. The bungee cord snapped off of the load and flew onto the computer desk where an employee was sitting and the load began to fall. b)Front of Store, Ladder Storage Area. The chain for securing the yellow ladders on the upper storage rack was not hooked in place. NO DOCUMENTATION OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
