Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Production area - provisions were not made to prevent the band saw and the circular table saw from automatically restarting upon restoration of power. Among others, one method of abatement is to equip the machinery with electrical equipment that is designed to prevent automatic restart after power has been restored to required operating levels, as is prescribed in NFPA-79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, Section 8. Abatement certification only is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).s
