conducting welding
operations where no engineering controls were utilized:
(a) Welder was exposed to levels of welding fume in excess of the
recommended levels
of 5.0 mg/M3. Welder was exposed to 5.5 mg/M3 of welding fume during
employee's
eight-hour work shift on April 15, 2003. This is approximately 1.1 times
the
recommended level.
(b) Welder was exposed to levels of welding fume in excess of the
recommended levels
of 5.0 mg/M3. Welder was exposed to 8.2 mg/M3 of welding fume during
employee's
eight-hour work shift on April 15, 2003. This is approximately 1.6 times
the
recommended level.
(c) Welder was exposed to levels of welding fume in excess of the
recommended levels
of 5.0 mg/M3. Welder was exposed to 6.4 mg/M3 of welding fume during
employee's
eight-hour work shift on April 15, 2003. This is approximately 1.3 times
the
recommended level.
(d) Welder was exposed to levels of welding fume in excess of the
recommended levels
of 5.0 mg/M3. Welder was exposed to 9.2 mg/M3 of welding fume during
employee's
eight-hour work shift on April 15, 2003. This is approximately 1.84 times
the
recommended level.
Among other means one feasible means of abatement is to install a
ventilation system to capture

(b) Evaluation of control measure options;
(c) Selection of optimum control measure(s);
(d) Determination of control measure design;
(e) Ordering and delivery of equipment and materials;
(f) Installation of control measures;
(g) Training of employees in the proper operation and maintenance of the
