Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: North side classrooms, exterior walls area - doves nested at this area where employees were exposed to contact with dove droppings and the biological hazards associated with them: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to control the nesting of doves on this area establishing a continuous and effective cleaning program of the area, where the frecuency of cleaning prevents the doves from establishing their nests. It has to be considered that the doves are protected by laws that regulate their control and that advise has to be taken with the appropiate authorities not to violate protecting laws for them. Salones de clases del lado norte, area de paredes exteriores - palomas anidaban en esta area donde empleados estaban expuestos al contacto con excremento de palomas y a los riesgos biologicos asociados con estos: Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable de correccion es el controlar el que las palomas aniden en este area estableciendo un programa de limpieza continuo y efectivo del area, donde la frecuencia de limpieza prevenga que las palomas establezcan su nido. Se debe tomar en consideracion que las palomas estan protegidas por leyes que regulan la forma de control y que se deben asesorar con las autoridades pertinentes para no violar las leyes de proteccion de estas.
