Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about December 3,2001, at 4601 NW 36 Street, Lauderdale Lakes, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet or the hazard of being struck by wood roof trusses that were subject to potential movement due to the lack of temporary bracing. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to install roof trusses in accordance to the Truss Plate Institutes recommendations which are contained in HIB-91, Recommendation for Handling, Installation and Bracing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
