Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being pulled into the rotating parts of a pipe threading machine; On or about 03/26/02, in the first floor of the parking area, employees were using a Rigid 300 electric pipe threader which was not provided with a constant pressure foot control switch as required by American National Standards institute B208.1-1982, Section 4.4 Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is: Provide the pipe threader with a constant foot control switch in accordance with ANSI B208.1-1982, Section 4.4 PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
