Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: the hazard of being struck by / caught in/between: On or about 4/4/02 at 970 South Collier Blvd., Employee wire brushing a caisson was exposed to a caught-in / struck by hazard due to the lack of a barricade to protect against the swing radius of a trackmounted drill rig being used next to the caisson. One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to install swing radius guards around each track mounted drill rig. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
