Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a falling/struck-by hazard: a) East Shawnee Trail, Lake Hopatcong, NJ: Employer did not ensure that employee(s) riding on a fabricated platform on the back of GMC Pickup Truck, No. 36 with Park-Kan, Model RD310C, Serial No. PK131507 were provided with a grab handle thereby exposing employees to a falling/struck-by hazard. Violation occurred on 2/14/2001 "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install grab handles capable of withstanding a 500 lb. pull in accordance with ANSI Standard Z245-1, 1992 - Mobile Refuse Collection and Compaction Equipment - Safety Requirements."-by
