Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: Hazard of falling from bucket of John Deere Tractor. (a) West Side of Building - An employee was not protected from falling 12 feet to the ground as he was standing in the bucket of a John Deere tractor being used to raise an oxy - acetylene torch set to the roof. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard: prohibit employees from being transported in the bucket of the John Deere tractor.
