Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees
in that employees
were exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Severes contusions, abrasions, lacerations and multiples fractures.
a)Employees were working daily and continuous inside of a wagon used as a
detachment which have at the outside area a wood ramp of 16' large x 4'
width and an inclination of 0' to 4' from lower to greater which have
moth, is
rottened, broken and worn out completely.  Also this one slippery when is
wet
because doesn't have sand paper that avoid the slippery hazards.
Location:  At the PR Police Department, Rincon Maritime Unit F.U.R.A.
Division.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is the construction of a new ramp with sand paper where
the employees could use in a safer manner.
Contusiones severas, abrasiones, laceraciones y multiples fracturas.
a)  Empleados estuvieron trabajando diaria y continuamente en el interior
de un
vagon utilizado como destacamento, el cual tiene en el area exterior una
rampa
de madera de 16' de largo x 4' de ancho y con una inclinacion de 0 a 4 pies
de menor a mayor la cual tiene polilla, esta podrida, rota y completamente
deteriorada.  Tambien esta resbala cuando esta mojado porque no tiene lijas
que eviten los riesgos de caidas.
Localizacion:  En el Departamento de la Policia, Unidad Maritima de Rincon,
Division F.U.R.A.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo
es la construccion de una rampa nueva con lijas donde los empleados puedan
utilizarla de una manera segura."la

ordenado,   o en condicion
sanitaria:
a)At the workplace known as Puerto Rico Police, Rincon Maritime Unit,
F.U.R.A.
Division -  Employees were working daily and continuous inside of a wagon
used
as a detachment which have some holes located at the wall of a gibson board
where the water enters when is raining.  Due to this situation and the
fact that
there are some water leakages in other places of the office there is a
continue and
progressive growing of fungi at different areas, including the ceiling of
the main
entrance; employees were exposed to acquire contagious illnesses that could
causing allergies, skin rash, respiratory problems and contusions,
lacerations and
abrasions due to falling hazards.
a)  En el lugar de trabajo conocido como Policia de Puerto Rico, Unidad
Maritima
de Rincon, Division F.U.R.A. - Empleados estuvieron trabajando diaria y
continuamente en el interior de un vagon utilizado como destacamento, el
cual
tiene varios agujeros localizados en la pared de "gipson board" por donde
el agua
entra cuando esta lloviendo.  Debido a esta situacion y al hecho de que
hay varios
liqueos en otros lugares de la oficina hay un desarrollo continuo y
crecimiento
progresivo de hongos en diferentes areas, incluyendo el techo de la entrada
principal; empleados expuestos a adquirir enfermedades contagiosas que
puedan
ocasionar alergias, irritacion en la piel, problemas respiratorios y
contusiones,
laceraciones y abrasiones debido a riesgos de caidas."
