On or about: 7/9/01
a) Employees use a Sedgewick electric elevator to transport animals
between the first and second
floors of the animal hospital. Routine and periodic inspections and tests
were
not conducted for
the elevator.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO:
Conduct routine inspection and tests of the electric elevator at intervals
no longer than 6 months,
as described in ASME A17.1-1996 Section 1001 and conduct periodic
inspection and tests of the
electric elevator at intervals no longer than 1 year, as described in ASME
A17.1-1996 Section
1002.
Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification and
documentation for
this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.ce
