Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious phyical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) The hazard of being struck by falling trees which were being used for yarder guyline anchors at the Alder Jam timber sale, Libby, Montana. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard it to follow the Rules Relating to Logging Departments and Logging Operations in Montana by the Department of Labor and Industry Bureau of Safety & Health and The Montana Logging Association, Section 3, D on Anchoring Guylines. BRIAN HANLEY LOGGING WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD SECTION 5(a)(1) OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT OF 1970 WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 304398779, CITATION NUMBER 1 ITEM NUMBER 1, ISSUED ON 01/02/02, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT NEW FAWN LINE TIMBER SALE, LIBBY, MONTANA.
