General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a pace of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to: (a) The hazard of a possible fall while standing on a load that was elevated by a 534C Gradall rough terrain truck. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard would be to follow the guidelines set forth in ASME B56.6-1992, Section 5.15.1 which requires a personnel platform, meeting the safety requirements set forth in said section, to be used when elevating personnel.
