Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard. Press Area: Employee(s) were not provided with a means of access to the overhead enclosure on Press #3, when making adjustments or setting up. Employee(s) stand on the guardrail along the pits edge and reach up and into the overhead. Violation observed on or about 7/24/01. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide a runway/platform and a ladder to access the overhead enclosure to make adjustment or setting up.ting
