Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of contact with a rotating saw blade: Second floor - the Sears 3-horse power table saw was not equipped with a magnetic restarter or equivalent device as prescribed in the National Fire Protection Association, NFPA-79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, Section 8, that in the event of an interruption in the electrical supply, would prevent the saw from restarting automatically when power is restored. Abatement certification only is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).s
