Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being caught in moving conveyor parts: a)First Floor, On or about 4/12/02: The conveyor ends had unguarded nip points. b)Second Floor, On or about 4/12/02: The conveyor ends had unguarded nip points. Among other methods, one feasible method of abatement is to: 1) Provide guarding for the conveyors as required per ANSI B20.1-1976, sections 5.09 and 6.01. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
