North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) facility -- monthly inspections of hooks, with inspection records, were not being performed. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect all of the hooks on the hoists monthly and maintain inspection records.on

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) facility -- rated load test reports were not placed on file where readily available to appointed personnel. All of the 44 jib cranes at the facility had not been load tested and all rated load test certificates were not available atthe facility. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to load test all of the jib cranes at the facility and maintain the load test certificates at the facility where they are readily available.
