shattering into shards and impacting into employees.
A.) On or about 10-2-01, in the wax disc area and the sonic welding room,
the employer was
using PVC pipe to transport compressed air into areas where needed.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to replace the PVC pipe with an impact resistant
Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) pipe.
This pipe is recommended by the plastic pipe institute for this purpose.
