Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) Prizm Interior Systems, Inc., 543 Hannah, Forest Park, Illinois - employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 16 feet where the employees were elevated from a JLG boom-supported elevating work platform while installing soffit. The employees were not wearing a fall restraint or fall arrest system. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is provide the employees with a fall restraint belt to comply with American National Standards Institute A92.5-1992 Section 8.8, which requires all personnel in the platform to wear fall protection devices and other safety gear as required at all times. No abatement documentation or certification is required for this item.
