Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The hazard of falling from and struck by. (a)On or about 12 September 2002, at the A & S Steel, Inc., construction site located at 1031 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL - a employee was observed working from a small wooden platform attached to the forks of a LULL (All Terrain Fork-lift). Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to use a personnel platform designed for the purpose of lifting personnel.
