Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to chemical burns. a/ Roosevelt Ave. Carteret P-4 Unloading Area: Tanker P-4 Rail Car #SHPX203838 No. 1 Phosphorus Unloading Dock - On or about May 27, 2003, employee(s) were exposed to being burned while unloading Phosphorus (P-4) from a rail car. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD, AMONG OTHER MEANS, WOULD BE FOR THE COMPANY TO TRAIN EMPLOYEES AND REINFORCE THE LINE BLOCKAGE PROCEDURE.
