Minn. Stat. 182.653 subd. 2:  The employer did not furnish to each
employee, conditions of
employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards which
caused or were
likely to cause death or serious injury to employees; specifically:
Two homemade lifting devices (slings), constructed of four 3/8 inch steel
cables that
were 7 1/2 feet long with carbon steel hooks, were being used for overhead
lifts of
the 1600 pound concrete hog flooring sections.  Located in the following
areas:
a)  Pre-cast Long Room
b)  Pre-cast Big Room
Abatement Guidelines:
Slings used for overhead lifting must be of alloy steel, be proof tested
with certificate issued,
have a permanently affixed identification tag that states size, grade,
rated capacity, and
reach.  Annual inspections must be done, with records, and any attachments
must be certified
under guidelines of CFR 1910.184.s
