North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)facility; throughout shop - underhung cranes have not been load tested. b)facility; throughout shop - jib cranes have not been load tested. REFERENCE: ANSI B30.11-1998 Monorails and Underhung Cranes; 11-2.2.2 Load Test (a) New, reinstalled, altered, repaired and modified equipment should be load tested... NOTE: One acceptable and feasible means of abatement is to have the cranes load tested.
