AMERICAN MILLING, LP WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION #303199228, CITATION 1, ITEM 1, ISSUED ON JUNE 15, 2001. Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm: The employer did not provide a complete fall protection system while employees were engaged in work such as but not limited to sandblasting, pulling running boards, replacing running boards and hatch covers on the top of rail cars 15 ft. above ground. This exposed employees to the recognized hazard of falls. A feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard would be: Set up staging areas for the different process (i.e washing, sandblasting, repair) and install permanent horizontal lifeline systems with retractable lifeline.le
