North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Facility, shoe storage room - employees were allowed to carry large heavy boxes of stock with limited/reduced forward visibility, into isles/areas where there were numerous tripping hazards (boxes of stock on the floor, blocking isles). Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to remove/eliminate the tripping hazards and limit the size/weight of boxes to be manually carried.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Facility, shoe storage room - employees were allowed to occupy and work in a storage room under construction/modification resulting in injury (a cut requiring stitches) from a piece of sharp metal protruding from steel wall studs. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to block and or limit employee access to those areas under construction, until walls are enclosed and possible exposure to sharp surfaces is eliminated.
