North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a falling hazard: a)parking lot - an employee stood on the top step and first step from the top of a 10 foot fiberglass ladder to apply "seal gap" to plug a hole on top of a truck trailer. REF: 1910.25(d)(2)(xii). ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD, AMONG OTHERS, TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO USE A 12 FOOT FIBERGLASS LADDER, OR EXTENSION LADDER WHEN APPLYING SEAL GAP TO TRUCK TRAILERS.
