Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall of 15 feet: a)Production Area: An employee was standing on a platform, fabricated by the company, was being lifted by a forklift. The platform was not built in accordance with ANSI B 56.1 1975, Part III- Section 513, on or about 03/05/02. Note: Among others feasible and acceptable abatement methods would be to: Provide a "safety platform" used in accordance with ANSI B56.1 1975, Part III-Section 513, or equivalent protection.
