Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. a)Workplace: An employee was being lifted while standing on the blade of the forklift. The employee was not provided with safety cage or other safe means of being lifted, on or about 02/27/02. Note: Among other feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to: 1.Provide "safety platform" used in accordance ANSI B56.1 1975 Part III-Section 513 or equivalent protection.
