Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of broken bones from unsafe building structure: a) River Vale Country Club: Employees will be exposed to an unsafe structure when retrieving equipment which is stored in the Ice House which had been posted as an unsafe structure on or around October 30, 2002. NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the specifications outlined in the Township of River Vale's "Notice of Unsafe Structure:" 1. Vacate the above structure by removing all equipment stored in the building and store it outside or in another building.
